Hit a barrier on this site? Tell us and we will fix it — and in the meantime we will get you the information another way. Call (405) 907-8884, or dial 711 for the Oklahoma Relay Service. We respond within 2 business days.

  7. How this site was assessed

1. Our commitment

Jones Medical cares for people recovering from injury, people living with disability, and people who are older. A website that those people cannot use is a website that fails the patients we exist to serve. We treat accessibility as part of doing our job, not as a legal checkbox.

We are working to make jonesmedical.org usable by everyone, regardless of ability or the technology they use to browse — including screen readers, screen magnification, speech recognition, switch access, and keyboard-only navigation.

2. Conformance target

We are working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, published by the W3C).

We are not there yet. This site is partially conformant — some content does not yet fully meet the standard. Section 4 lists what we know is outstanding. We would rather tell you exactly where the gaps are than claim a conformance level we have not earned.

3. What we have done

  • A “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page
  • A visible keyboard focus indicator on every interactive element
  • Semantic HTML landmarks, so screen reader users can jump between regions
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative icons hidden from assistive technology
  • Form fields with real, associated labels — never placeholder-only labels
  • Form errors and submission results announced to screen readers, not only shown visually
  • Full keyboard operability, including the mobile menu, which closes on Esc and returns focus where you left it
  • Respect for the reduced motion setting in your operating system — animations are disabled if you have asked for that
  • Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 px, and remains usable at 200% zoom
  • Language tagging on non-English content, so screen readers pronounce it correctly

4. Known limitations

We know about the following, and we are working on them. If one of these is blocking you right now, call us and a person will help you immediately.

Colour contrast on some accent-coloured buttons
A few buttons using our pink brand gradient sit slightly below the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required for normal-size text. Being re-tested and adjusted.
Team photographs have short alternative text
Each staff photo is currently labelled with the person’s name only. We are expanding these into fuller descriptions.
Third-party contact form
Our contact form is delivered by a third-party service. We control the markup and have made it accessible, but we do not control that provider’s error responses.
PDF documents
Any PDF we publish may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we will provide the content in an accessible format at no charge.
Employee portal
The staff portal has had less accessibility review than the public site. Employees who need an accommodation should contact their supervisor; we will provide one.

5. Getting information another way

If any part of this site does not work for you, you never have to fight with it. We will give you the same information in whatever form works:

  • Over the phone, at (405) 907-8884
  • Through the Oklahoma Relay Service — dial 711
  • In large print, by mail
  • Read aloud to you, in person or by phone
  • In an accessible electronic format
  • Through a qualified sign language interpreter — see Nondiscrimination & Language Assistance

All of this is free. You do not need to explain why you need it.

6. Reporting a barrier

We want to hear about it. Tell us what page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what happened — and, if you can, what browser or assistive technology you were using. Any detail helps; none of it is required.

If you believe you have been discriminated against on the basis of disability, you may also file a formal grievance or a complaint with the federal government. Both routes are described in our Nondiscrimination & Language Assistance notice.

7. How this site was assessed

This statement reflects a self-evaluation carried out in September 2026, combining an automated scan with manual keyboard-only and screen reader testing. It has not been audited by an independent third party; when it is, we will say so here and update the date.

Accessibility checks now run automatically whenever we change this site, so regressions are caught before they reach you. We review this statement at least annually.
